Edwardian detached property, Saffron Walden, Essex
Description: so far one of the most engaging projects I worked on where the clients stayed true to their beliefs and style. This was a mammoth task with every single element of kitchen design to consider from hot water taps to bespoke antique mirror splashback. This was a complete remodel of the room with the addition of a new window, French doors and minor structural adjustments.
Brief: warm and welcoming family space for catching up at the end of a day. Entertaining is a big part of this family so a suitable colour scheme to enhance the joy of meeting up with friends and family was essential.
Application of biophilic design: In this project, biophilic design was seamlessly integrated through the use of bold & energising colour scheme and thoughtful textures. The bespoke antique mirror splashback in the kitchen adds a touch of vintage elegance and allows the client to see the garden in its reflection enhancing the sense of space and connection to the outdoors. A statement kitchen island serves as the centerpiece, bringing guests together. Textures were introduced through carefully selected furniture pieces either moved from other rooms or sourced in antique shops. A window seat was created to enjoy a moment of calm.
